Infant Curriculum and Toddler Curriculum
The Creative Curriculum for Infants and Toddlers is designed to help teachers understand
developmentally appropriate practices and how to create daily routines
and meaningful experiences that respond to children’s strengths, interests and needs.
The Creative Curriculum for Preschool is fully aligned with the Head Start Child Development
and Early Learning Framework and state early learning standards.
Using exploration and discovery as a way of learning,
the Creative Curriculum for Preschool enables children to develop
confidence, creativity and lifelong critical thinking skills.
Activities are based on the Creative Curriculum, Emergent Curriculum and Reggio and are centered on health and wellness for children. Activities to meet the goals and objectives of promoting physical, intellectual, social and emotional development of the children in each age category are focused on eleven interest areas:
Toys and Games
Sand and Water
Music and Movement
In addition to the eleven interest areas, children will learn about healthy living and making healthy choices. Emphasis will be put on hand washing, nutrition, exercise, rest, relaxation and therapies that promote health and wellness. Daily art, language, music and enhanced learning activities will be offered to enable children to explore their creativity while promoting lifelong, healthy learning.
